My PWR Portfolio
Despite practicing writing in clearly professional contexts through my PWR coursework and role at the communications office, I've been able to hone my creativity at Elon through multimedia projects within the major, specifically the Highway 64 Project. The project grew its legs initially in 2012 when PWR students began writing pieces about different regions along the roads of Route 64 in North Carolina, examining local towns food, cultures and intricacies in general. Since then, it has sprouted into a website, and this year, a podcast! By chance and workings of my fall semester course schedule, I became the executive producer of "From Murphy to Manteo: The Highway 64 Podcast" with Dr. Strickland and fellow PWR student Caden Halberg. These episodes speak to the more cultural and creative instincts I've been able to explore, hone and adapt throughout my time in the PWR department. They felt like the perfect examples to demonstrate my "Creative" archetype, in addition to a piece I created during my semester abroad in Florence, Italy. Click below to take a read!
